Welcome to Backwoods Refinishing. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the services provided by Backwoods Refinishing. By scheduling a service or using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms.

1. Scheduling and Cancellations

We value your time and the time of our technicians. To ensure efficient service for all clients, we adhere to the following scheduling policies:

  • Cancellation Policy: Any rescheduling or cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled project date. Failure to provide this notice will result in a cancellation fee equal to 25% of the project cost, with a minimum charge of $75.00.
  • Site Access: If our team cannot gain access to the property to begin work within 15 minutes of our arrival, the project must be rescheduled. This will be billed as a cancellation at the rate of 25% of the project cost, with a minimum charge of $75.00.

2. Project Preparation and Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a successful project, the customer must adhere to the following preparation requirements:

  • Utilities and Climate: The project location must have active running water and electricity. The room temperature must be maintained between 68-72°F in the winter and 72-76°F in the summer to allow for proper curing.
  • Plumbing: All faucet drips and drain leaks must be repaired prior to the project start date. Leaky faucets can erode the new finish and void the warranty.
  • Clearing the Area: Customers must remove all belongings from the item to be resurfaced, the room it is in, and the area within 15 feet of the workspace. Backwoods Refinishing is not responsible for moving appliances or protecting personal items.

3. Safety and Liability

Refinishing involves the use of products that produce odors and fumes. While we use Low VOC, FDA, and EPA-approved products, we recommend the following for your safety:

  • Occupancy: It is recommended that pets, children, and adults with respiratory conditions or weakened immune systems vacate the premises during the project and for 24 hours after completion.
  • Assumption of Risk: If you choose to remain in the home during the process, you assume full responsibility and liability. The customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Backwoods Refinishing against any claims, damages, or liabilities connected to the performance of services, except in cases of gross negligence by the Company.

4. Warranty and Care

Your refinished surface is designed to be durable, but improper care can damage the finish and void your warranty.

  • Curing Time: Do not use the surface for 24 to 36 hours after completion. The surface requires up to 30 days to fully cure.
  • Prohibited Items: The use of bathmats with suction cups or adhesives will damage the surface and void the warranty.
  • Cleaning: Use only recommended mild cleaners. The use of abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, bleach, or harsh chemicals will dull the surface and is prohibited.
  • Damage Reporting: Dropping sharp or heavy objects may cause damage. Failure to contact Backwoods Refinishing in a timely manner regarding damage can result in further issues and will void the warranty. Backwoods Refinishing does not guarantee damage caused by neglect or abuse.
